Autoerotique, the “greatest thing since sliced toast!”

From breaking into 2009 with debut single ‘Gladiator’ to on-stage madness at Tomorrowland and other smashing events, Keith Robertson and Dave Henderson have been breaking the conventional boundaries of Electronic Music with their unmistakable this-that-and-everything-in-between sound squadron. The release of their infectious deep house monster ‘Count On You’ on Armada Deep was reason enough to ask the musically inclined minds of Autoerotique a few short questions.

Can you describe the far-famed Autoerotique style?
The greatest thing since sliced bread that’s also been toasted.

How did you get into electronic music?
Long story short, electronic music entered me.

We’re really digging ‘Count On You’! How did this track come about?
First, thank you for digging it! I was in LA working with my writing partner ‘Very Nice Dave’ and just caught a wave. It’s more ‘housy’ than what we’re usually up to, which I think is a nice change.

Which of your favorite songs isn’t suited for playing in DJ sets, even though you would like it to be?
Well, I wish I could play more hip-hop and rap, but not trappy stuff. I feel like there is a giant divide between the those genres and Electronic Music, even though people love to rap over ‘EDM’/trap type beats, which usually gives me shivers. And those aren’t good shivers…

Any upcoming tunes we must know about?
We have a single coming out on Diplo’s label Mad Decent called ‘The Sound’, which is pretty big! We also just finished an official remix of ‘Disarm You’ for Kaskade, and we’ve got a new original tune coming out on Dim Mak at the end of October as well. It’s called ‘I Get Up’.
