A State Of Trance Festival 2015: Mark Sixma

Not too long ago, the brand new A State Of Trance Festival 2015 compilation emerged. It offered six top-tier artists the chance to mix one part of the compilation, and we got to interview every single one of them. Here is one of the fastest rising stars of the moment: Mark Sixma.

What does A State Of Trance mean to you?
Whether it’s the radio show, the festival or the label, it always represents the best that trance music has to offer!

Briefly take us through the track list of your mix in the ASOT Festival 2015 compilation.
For this mix, I selected some of my biggest tracks and remixes over the last two years. So of course, you will find my collab with Armin van Buuren (‘Panta Rhei’) and my rework of ‘Adagio for Strings’ on there! There’s also some exclusive content featured in the form of the intro edit of ‘Requiem’, which I open a lot of my live sets with. I’ve also included an exclusive M6 track (my former alias) to the mix. The only place to get it is on this compilation!

If you were to program an ASOT festival, which country would you choose and what will be your line-up?
Probably Mexico, because I haven’t played there yet and I heared the crowd is amazing! Regarding the line-up, I’d definitely put myself on stage :). Some of the other acts that I would love to have on stage with me are Andrew Rayel, Cosmic Gate, Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren!

Of all summer festivals, which one is your favorite and why?
That would be Nature One in Germany! The location is at a former rocket facility, the atmosphere there is really unique and amazing.

What is keeping you busy in the studio these days?
Some very exciting things! I just finished ‘Stellar’, which was released on Armind recently. Apart from that, I’m working on a collab with my buddy Andrew Rayel and there are also two new vocal tracks in the works! Can’t wait to share them with the world!

Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
I can´t thank you enough for all the support you’ve given me throughout the years. You are enabling me to follow my dream in music and for that I am forever grateful! Stay awesome! 🙂
